i love this case for it’s protective qualities, i work outdoors in all weather and although i’m careful with my phone, the otterbox gives me more peace of mind. i do have two comments. the first is the oil-slick effect mentioned in other reviews. it is recommended to try a light dusting of baby powder to get rid of the problem, but i’m reluctant to introduce unnecessary dust into my expensive phone. my other (small) frustration is that the case is maybe “overprotective” in that i can’t use most FM transmitters with it in place, particularly those that have a fitted “cradle” for the phone. overall, this is a product i’m happy to have!

I recently bought 2 3GS phones and bought two of these chargers thinking well all car chargers should work pretty much the same. WRONG!!
I thought it probably won’t charge as fast as regular usb to laptop or wall charger but it probably charges enough for me to use in the car. WRONG!!
I’ve tried both chargers. I even turned off the iPhones thinking it charges more while turned off. WRONG!!
One time my iPhone was at 25% battery. My work to home commute is about 1:15minutes. I plugged the phone to the charger light turned on and phone was activated. I turned off the phone to increase the charging speed. An hour and fifteen minutes later, I get home unplug the phone from the charger and batter life was now 27%. That’s a 2% charge in over 1 hour. You do the math for a full charge.
This product is so bad I can’t give it away because who ever I give it to will certainly hate me for it so its trash time.
Take it for me, when it comes to car chargers for your iphone SPEND THE MONEY. I went cheap and got trash don’t make same mistake.
Happy Shopping!
No need to spend so much on a charger when you can purchase this one for a cheaper price. Have had it for a couple of months and still no problems.
Great item to buy serveral, put one in each vehicle. Good quality, great backup when your battery gets low while you are on the road or in the boat.
The charger works okay, I just use it for my ipod, instead of my iphone because I have an Otterbox case and the part that plugs into the phone is square – the opening in the case and the apple cables are all oval shaped. If the prongs were longer it would work but to use this charger I have to take it out of the case, which is too much of a pain to do every time. I just think the listing should say that it can’t be used with one of the most popular protective cases sold for the iphone…
This charger provides uninterrupted supplies of power unlike the one with USB adapter. I love this blue LED light.
I was really disgusted when i first opened the box and tried to power the iPod to find out that it will not work if i don’t connect it to a pc with iTunes. This is ridiculous! Period!
Compound to that the fact that you cannot open a “free” iTunes account unless you give a credit card regardless if you plan or not to purchase anything.
compound to the above the fact that you cannot upload download music between a pc and the iPod unless it is in the one and only computer that it has “bonded” with. I actually did not believe it could be the case until i reached an apple customer service person who told me that i could not take my music i loaded in the iPod at home and copy it on my office computer.
These facts all felt extremely unfriendly and targeted to exploit the owner of the device.
Well thank God for Hackers and their ingenuity to come and solve the problem for free.
It is a pity that such a marvel of engineering and design is partnered with such an exploitation of money making business.
I bought this iPod Touch for my wife knowing that she had mentioned wanting to bring her music with her. Shortly after she first got it started, I introduced her to the AppStore and she never looked back.
She doesn’t use it for music, she uses it for the little apps, mostly games, organizers and so forth. The amount of free applications is daunting and, though you can find thousands of them, you will likely only see the “top 50″ of type, popularity and so forth. Digging deeper can bring to light some gems, but you rarely get past the “50″ mark without having to go online to do your own research.
The cryptic way that the iPod works with iTunes and you music files has _always_ kept me from getting an iPod… I’ve personally vowed never to get one for myself because of the way it is handled. We’ve had some synchronizing accidents, erasing all downloaded applications, because of the way that you have to set up iTunes to work with the device. Simply annoying. Although I’ve had Mac owners tell me that iTunes works far better on a Mac, they still have to deal with this cryptic method of setting up the device. I know it is a method of self-preservation, but it is the main stumbling block that keeps me from investing further in any purchased items.
Other than that, it’s an organizer, alarm clock, wireless network finder and browser. It can do anything that the iPhone can do without the $60+data monthly fee. (Well, except make calls like a mobile phone and browse GPRS or 3G…
) She enjoys it and that’s what matters to me.
Though I can do some incredible things with it knowing that the core is Unix, it’s “closed system” requires you to do all of your restricted shopping/buying from the App Store. A money maker for Apple, but keeps the device woefully inside a tight confine of limits for it’s potential. The homebrew scene requires a Mac, no exceptions.
I enjoy it and my wife loves it! But I, personally, find the pain points of being force fed Apple products in a perpetual stream of Apple services via advertising and the App Store, plus the automation of iTunes handling along with the glut of advertising there, to simply not be for me.
It was refurb which I buy often. Product worked fine (didn’t arrive when I expected to) but was a little disappointed in the overall appearence as it had a “used” look to it. I will continue to buy refurb but will be a little more cognizent of where I’m buying it from…….
He can’t get enough of this 3rd generation IPod. He takes it EVERYWHERE! Every time he discovers something else he can do with it, he has to call and tell me. He has had so much fun with the touch screen and looking at the screen from different angles. He’s really not that easily entertained, but with this, the entertainment never stops for him.
Thank you Amazon, it was the perfect Christmas gift!
I love this ipod but i think the battery dies to quick. Other than that it is a great product.
excellent case for ipone. fits my needs as a mechanic.. not to rubbery and not too slick.
At first this case looks really amazing – fits great, is very small and has nice grip (not too smooth, not too rubbery). If you are reading reviews of users who just got it, well you will see a lot of 5 star reviews.
I already went through 2 of these cases (yes two), they last about one month.
1. the case scratches your iPhone a lot on the back, this might not be a big issue (hey I use the phone, I expect scratches), but its not minor tiny scratches.
2. the case is kinda cut in the corners and does not fit exactly on the iPhone – this is great feature because when your iPhone hits the ground, these “flappers” help to decrease the shock. Well the problem is that they break – top left next to the camera lens broke in 3 weeks, top right next to the volume broke in 5 weeks (I went through 2 cases very very quickly).
This case looks great and seemed quite durable. I try to remove the phone from the case every few weeks to clean the phone and ensure there is no dirt/sand in behind. After a few removals, one of the corners is now broken…. looks crappy.
After an exhaustive search for a new case, I just ordered a Speck CandyShell Case…. hopefully it will last longer. The Speck seems to have an overall good review history.
One more thing (CaseCrown Case)….. the Apple logo, at the back, and the chrome trim at the top and bottom are the only areas now showing scratches. These areas are not protected by the cover.
This case is grippy and keeps your phone safe while not slipping out of your hands. It doesn’t add bulk to the phone and is very sleak.
If you are looking for a very low profile case, this is the one to select; it only covers the points of impact and still fits nicely in your pocket. It is somewhat non-slip and it would be nice if there was a way to make a portion of the back center more resistant to sliding – I’m not overly concerned, but it would be nice.
The edges which cover the front portion are also very low profile, yet enough to protect the screen if it landed face first.
Good work and great design – your product does not take away from the elegant look of the iphone.
I bought one a year ago, and it worked fine. Then one day I must have pulled on the wire instead of the clips because I needed to “jiggle” the wires to make it connnect to my iphone. So for under $10, I bought another one. And it works great.
I tried first time and it charged my new iPhone. Second time it didn’t charge instead overheated my iPhone. Since then my iPhone is acting wierd. In the middle of an app, it exits. Hangs for couple minutes for no reason. Starts iTune out of nowhere.
Be carefull, don’t fall for a cheaper piece. Pay extra and get a decent one. I do not recomment this to anyone.
Just wanted something to charge my iPhone 3GS on the occasions I am away from a usb port. For .64 – what else can I asked for – seems to work fine.
Used it for two weeks now and so far so good! Great price too!!
THis price is amazing, I had bought from China before that costs me $10 including shipping.
But it can’t be used with my iPhone, I was pissed.
HOWEVER, this amazing price car recharger DOES work with my iPhone.
I got three for my friends and myself, great great deal !
