This adapter feels more solid than the original that comes with the ipod shuffle. It works perfectly. I love it. No problems whatsoever. I don’t know what to possibly say bad about it. Hmmmm. SImple.

For the ultra portable media player enthusiast, one of the most popular products on the market right now is the Apple iPod Shuffle, a miniature version of their impressively popular iPod. The retail bundle that comes with the iPod Shuffle is more than good enough to make your experience on the go very enjoyable, but there are many other iPod Shuffle accessories available that can further enhance your time spent listening to music.

Headphones, Headphones, Headphones

Without a doubt, one of the most popular accessories for the iPod Shuffle comes in the form of headphones, integral to the portability of the iPod. Do you want traditional headphones which cover the ears or do you want different types of ear buds? Sometimes, headphones break and you need replacements, so you'll find no lack of a selection when trying to ipod shuffle find some headphones to replace broken ones or trying to find ones which deliver crisper audio than the ones you currently have. They're also pretty cheap, usually under $10 a pair, so you needn't worry that you'll be paying $50 or higher for them.

Other popular iPod Shuffle accessories include car chargers, which plug into your car's lighter to deliver power to your iPod Shuffle. That way, you won't have to worry about your iPod running out of juice while you're on the go. You can also get interface connectors or cables so you can play your iPod on your car's stereo system to listen to beautiful music while you drive without having to worry about missing a cell phone call because you had your headphones on.

There are many other iPod Shuffle accessories you can check out. If you want to listen to music without having your headphones on, you can always check out speaker systems which plug into your iPod Shuffle. These speakers deliver crisp, powerful sound fidelity, the kind that make audiophiles' mouths water, and you'll pay a fraction of what you pay for high end speakers from popular audio companies.

Ultimately, the value that you get out of your iPod Shuffle is up to you. The Shuffle by itself is a very good value, but you can get so much more if you're willing to spend just a little more on various iPod Shuffle accessories. Because the iPod Shuffle is designed to just play music, you don't have to worry about other accessories to play video or give more protection so the video screen doesn't get scratched. In the end, the entire suit of iPod Shuffle accessories will help you listen to music the way you want to listen to it.

This device makes a fairly decent flash drive. It’s a little awkward in shape and flops around a bit because of the adapter, but aside from that, it holds nearly 4GB of data and has a decent file transfer rate.

It does, however, make a terrible paperweight. It is much too light, and would likely be blown away during a heavy gust of wind.

An MP3 Player, you say? Not if the headphones break! Without that fancy little control strip, it won’t even turn on at all. Official replacements cost about half the price of the device itself, and control strip adapters cost around $20 or thereabouts, plus the cost of a new set of headphones of your choice. If you use it daily, expect to have to buy replacement parts in order to keep it running within the first six months.

I wish I would’ve never bought one of these, to be honest. Buyer beware.

This product suffers from a fatal flaw. It is sensitive to moisture so if you are buying it for running then think again. I bought it primarily to listen while running long distances. It worked for exactly 5 runs. On my 6th (half marathon), the headphone controls completely freezed! Now it doesn’t respond at all so no way to increase or decrease volume and no way to advance or choose the playlist that you want to listen to. Look up the discussions on this product on the apple website by people who have had similar problems. The list of people suffering from faulty headphones is ever growing. Buy this product if you are ready to deal with this problem. Apple iPod shuffle 2 GB Silver (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

First off, I do not own one of these products. However, I have used one, and I have read many, many reviews of it. And my conclusion is this: do not buy it under any circumstances.

Why should you? Many reviewers have suggested that you can get around the horrid design fault Apple introduced into this generation of shuffle (placement of controls on the headphone wires rather than the unit itself) by buying a third-party adaptor so that you can ditch the included headphones, which suck and malfunction when they come into contact with sweat (or any liquid).

But there are two problems. The first is practical: the adaptors are generally of poor quality and have a tendency to fall apart, even with light use. The second problem is ethical: why should we have to buy additional equipment just because Apple screwed up? It is not our job to design ipods, but it is the job of Apple. So why should we have to seek additional hardware – spending our valuable time and money in the process – to compensate for Apple’s lack of thought? Let’s all ensure that this product FAILS so that the company will have to replace it with something that does its job and that satisfies customers.
